Ernakulam on Tuesday reported 9,405 new Covid-19 positive cases. Of the new cases, 6,847 people have contracted the virus through local transmission and source of infection in 2,538 are unknown.

The control room received 187 calls, including 135 from the public. As many as 54,790 people are under home quarantine. On Tuesday, 14,948 samples were sent for testing. Meanwhile, 10,463 doses of the vaccine were inoculated on the day. Of these, 3,288 were first doses and the rest were second doses. As many as 3,199 booster doses were also inoculated on Tuesday.
