Till recently the remarkable fact about Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement in producer Anand Pandit’s ‘Chehre’ was the fact that he had agreed to act in the film for free. But, as the producer has revealed to ETimes, the senior actor has also gone ahead and written his own monologue in the film.
Speaking about the same, producer Anand Pandit revealed the real reason why Amitabh Bachchan turned writer for the film. He said, “Mr Bachchan wanted to add a subtle message to this film. So, after the shooting of the film was completed, he told me, ‘Anand Bhai let the set stand for two more days, because I want to say something in the film.’ He sat down in his van and began to write. And then on the last day, he gave a one-take monologue, which was 14-minute long take.
The entire unit stood up and gave him a standing ovation.” Although the veteran actor has not taken a credit for the monologue in ‘Chehre’, he has been on the writing team for an earlier project. Mr Bachchan had got credit as a writer for the TV show ‘Astra Force’ an animated superhero series that was made in 2016. Incidentally, his wife Jaya Bachchan has been credited for the story of ‘Shahenshah’ that was directed by Tinnu Anand.
